Unite for global zero-deforestation commitments

ADP - Multi-Stakeholder Meeting

5th of June 2025, Germany

Venue: GIZ Representation Berlin, Reichpietschufer 20, 10785 Berlin, Germany.

Host: German chair of the AD Partnership

Introduction: Since the launch of the Amsterdam Declarations Partnership (ADP) in 2015, much action has been taken to eliminate deforestation from the production and trade of agricultural commodities. Progress has been made by commodity producers and countries to meet increasing market demand for legally compliant and deforestation-free, sustainable agricultural commodities. Challenges still exist to get to a farmers and forests positive future.

Enhancing decent income and producer livelihoods, conserving the remaining primary forests, halting biodiversity loss, restoring degraded lands and ecosystem services, smallholder farmer inclusion in agricultural value chains, climate adaptation, agricultural resource security, and recognition of the rights of Indigenous Peoples, form all part of a comprehensive agenda for such positive future.

The ADP-MSM will facilitate further cross-commodity exchange and learning, working in partnerships, policy dialogue and coherence, and synergy in implementation to establish a level playing field for supply chain actors and support a just rural transition towards a farmers and forests positive future.
